When moving a single item a short distance however, it is often more practical to pack and deliver it personally ensuring that it is both safe and secure and never left unattended. As a general guideline, we would suggest the following:
Always wrap fragile items separately;
Always use acid free tissue underneath bubble wrap to protect any enamels or restored areas;
Ensure that wrapped items do not move around in their box/crate by filling any spaces with tissue or polystyrene foam chips;
Double-box where possible to prevent other sharp objects puncturing the box and damaging fragile surfaces like canvas.
